Thumli Joyshing Monsang selected for the AFC Project Future Referee Course – Batch 2016-17, becomes the first male referee to get selected from North East India

Thumli Joyshing Monsang, a football enthusiast and renowned referee from Chandel District has been selected by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the AFC Project Future Referee Course – Batch 2016-17. He is among the three referees selected from India; the other two being female referees. Son of Th. Angpatin Monsang, the 25 years old Thumli Joyshing Monsang has become the first football referee from Manipur and first male referee from North Eastern region to get selected in Asia Football Confederation (AFC) project Future Asia Referee Course. The course will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from April 13 to 18, 2017.

The 25 years old, young referee from Liwa Khullen village of Chandel District is one of the three referees selected from India; the other two being female referees. Son of Th. Angpatin Monsang, Thumli Joyshing Monsang has become the first football referee from Manipur and first male referee from North Eastern region to get selected in Asia Football Confederation (AFC) project Future Asia Referee Course .

Earlier, Joyshing officiated at state level and national and international football matches. He officiated in 47 top tier league matches including three final matches of Manipur State League, CC Meet and Winner’s Cup in the year 2016 organized by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA). He also officiated in 5 football matches of North East Games 2016, 9 matches of Sub Junior National Football Championship, 9 matches of Under-16 I-League 2015-16. At the International level, he officiated in 6 matches of AFC Under-14 Regional Football Festival, Dushanbe Tajikistan 2016.
