Thoudam Suman – a future star hockey player from Manipur

Hockey has been the game in which Manipur has produced largest number of Olympins. For Manipur, surrounding areas of Singjamei has been the hub of great Manipuri hockey players.  Thoudam Suman is young and a very talented hockey player from Singjamei. She has a very bright future considering her performance and consistence. She was a member of the Indian youth hockey team which won the World Youth Hockey Tournament (under-18) held in Netherlands on August 11 and 12, 2014.

The eldest daughter of Thoudam Anand of Singjamei Monkhanglambi in Imphal east had earlier participated in various national hockey championships.

She participated in Sub Junior National in Pune 2014 (winner), Sub Junior National Bhopal 2013 (runners up), Junior National 2014 in Mysore (runner), Junior National 2013 in Ranchi (runner) and Sub Junior Zonal in Mumbai.

A player in right-half position , Suman earlier took part in Inter school tournaments in Delhi in and in Amritsar in 2011, Sub Junior National in Patna in 2011 and Jawaharlal Nehru Tournaments in 2013 (runner) and in 2012 (runner).
