Thiyam Dayananda wins bronze medal in 9th Senior Men’s & Women’s Body Building & 4th Men’s & Women’s Physique Sports Championship 2016

Thiyam Dayananda won bronze medal in 9th Senior Men’s & Women’s Body Building & 4th Men’s & Women’s Physique Sports Championship 2016 held at Roha, Raigad, Maharashtra. The young bodybuilder competed in men’s 80kg category and won the medal competing the likes of Arambam Boby who won silver medal in the same category.

The championship was organised by Indian Body Builders Federation, Maharashtra Body Building Association, Raigad District Body Builders Association, which continued from 11th to 13th March, 2016.

The competition consisted of ten weight groups in men’s bodybuilding viz Up to & inclusive 55 kgs, Up to & inclusive 60 kgs, Up to & inclusive 65 kgs, Up to & inclusive 70 kgs, Up to & inclusive 75 kgs, Up to & inclusive 80 kgs, Up to & inclusive 85 kgs, Up to & inclusive 90 kgs, Above 90 kgs & below 100 kgs and above 100 kgs. Women’s bodybuilding competition consisted of just one open group.

Competition in Physique Sports consisted of one open group each in men’s and women’s categories.
In this competition, Nongmaithem Sarbo Meitei and Thingbaijam Sarita won national titles in men’s and women’s bodybuilding competitions respectively.
