Thiyam Dayananda becomes Mr India 2017, clinches the title for the first time!

Thiyam Dayananda representing Services grabbed the title of Mr India after winning gold medal at the 10th Senior Men’s & Women’s Body Building & 5th Men’s & Women’s Physique Sports National Championship 2017 which was held from 2nd to 4th March 2017 at Gurgaon, Haryana under the organization of Haryana Body Building and Fitness Association and District Amateur Body Building Federation.

The youngman who won silver medal in Mr. Services 2017 held at Secundarabad in February 2017 clinched the title in men’s 85kg category. This is his maiden Mr India title in senior level. He also won bronze medal in the Mr India 2016 contest.

Son of Thiyam Temba Singh and Chaoba Devi, Dayananda started his bodybuilding in 2012 and won bronze medal in Sub Junior tall group in Mr Kangleipak 2012 after three months of joining bodybuilding. The new Mr India 201, Dayananda then won silver medal in 1st Mr Saphaba 2013 and gold medal in Federation Cup 2013 Chattisgarh. The bodybuilder continued his winning spree as he won overall Junior champion title in 4th Mr Kangleipak 2013, senior overall champion in 2nd Mr Saphaba 2014 and another Senior overall champion title in Mr Imphal East 2014.

It may be mentioned that Nongmaithem Sarbo, Thingbaijam Sarita won Mr India 2017 and Miss India 2017 titles in men’s 75kg and women’s open categories respectively. Former Mr India Khuraijam Pritam won 5th position in men’s 90kg. Miss Manipur 2016 Wangkhem Jamuna also participated in the championships.
