Nongthombam Indrasini who represented India at the World Police and Fire Games 2017 in Los Angeles, USA won six medals. Daughter of Nongthombam Indrajit who is also the President of Manipur Rifles’ Association and Nongthombam Ashangbi made India proud by winning 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals for a total of 6 medals in the games.

The sharp shooter from Manipur won 2 gold medals in big bore rifles match (300 yards unisex individual) and in .22 smallbore rifles prone (50 m unisex individual). She won 2 silver medals in big bore rifles combined unisex and .22 smallbore free rifles three position (50m unisex individual) as well. The shooter later won 2 bronze medals in .22 smallbore rifles prone (50m unisex team) and .22 small-bore free rifles three position (50m unisex team).
With these medals, Manipuri athletes representing India have won 26 medals – 15 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals. In the last World Police and Fire Games held at Fairfax County, Virginia, USA in 2015, Manipuri athletes won 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.
